“A blended mixture of the past and the present. A curated balance of forging times, focusing on quality, timeless spaces & pieces.”
“I surround myself with leather, brass & steel elements. These raw materials heavily influence my design style & their natural patina over time creates a unique story”
A blended mixture of the past and the present, Mind Over Manor is grounded in a philosophy of balance — where heritage and modernity coexist in harmony. Each project is a curated expression of time and texture, where craftsmanship, quality, and considered design come together to create spaces with depth and soul.
“I surround myself with timber, leather, brass, and steel. These raw materials deeply influence my design style — their natural patina over time tells a story, creating a character that only age can define.”
— Hayley Priest, Founder & Creative Director
Since entering the property and interior design realm in 2007, Hayley Priest has built a reputation as a distinctive and intuitive creative within the Australian design landscape. Her career began with an international property developer based in Sydney’s CBD, where she played a pivotal role in numerous residential and commercial projects — defining interiors that merge refined simplicity with purposeful design.
Over the past two decades, Hayley’s expertise has evolved across multiple disciplines — encompassing interior design, property staging, styling, and experiential retail. Her portfolio spans bespoke holiday homes, design-led transformations, and luxury developments throughout New South Wales, each reflecting her commitment to timeless design and storytelling through space.
Beyond her corporate and creative achievements, Hayley established Mind Over Manor — a homewares and lifestyle brand born from her desire to merge aesthetics with authenticity. She continues to collaborate with boutique hospitality and retail clients, curating interiors that elevate both brand identity and customer experience.
Her work embodies a quiet confidence — spaces that feel grounded yet elevated, tactile yet refined.
Among her many projects, The Highlands Black Barn remains a defining example of Hayley’s design ethos. Completed in 2020, the project drew acclaim for its meticulous detailing, raw material palette, and understated luxury. Recognised in editorial features and design circles, it stands as a true reflection of her creative vision: timeless, intentional, and enduringly beautiful.
“Classic to me means things that are timeless & enduring, the things that never go out of style. I’ve never designed for obsolesence - I’ve designed for longevity”
— Ralph Lauren, excerpt of “50 Years” by Ralph Lauren.
